Equalizer not load balancing at all

  • Fixed & released

Hardware setup:
Equalizer with firmware v56 connected to HAN port. Home with IT 3 phase setup and 63A main fuse. 2x Easee home chargers (firmware v283) connected in series by 3 phase 32A circuit and setup to 1 phase charging due to limitations of the car. Both chargers and Equalizer are connected to the home's Wifi.

Software setup:
In the app, the Equalizer has been configured to utilize only 19% = 12A in order to prevent high electricity costs. In the app, in the site settings, maximum charging current is set to 20A and it is reported that this is controlled by Equalizer.

When connecting the car, a maximum charging current of 18A is selected which is considerably above the setting in the Equalizer. Using a different setting for the current limit in the Equalizer does not have any effect at all. Using a different limit current in the site settings in the app will effectively limit the charging current to the set value minus 2A.

Thus, the Equalizer does not seem to load balance at all, though it reports the actual load on all phases correctly. It seems to be a known issue for the Kia Soul EV that the charging current is always 2A less than the maximum available current.

Please disregard this issue. Once the Equalizer updated itself to version v88, load balancing worked as intended.
