Hi, I've got a Mercedes EQC wich only supports 2 phase AC charging, the problem occurres when I have a bigger load on the phase that is not charging the car. For example
Car is charging on phase 1 and 2
Say that its using 14A on each phase.
Suddenly phase 3 wich is not used by the car, gets a higher load. Then the Equalizer will load balance down all phases, even when it's not really necessary because the car only uses phase 1 and 2.
Is there maybe possible to make the charger know that the car only uses phase 1 & 2.
This problem only occurs when the car isn't able to make full use of 3 phases.

Loadbalancing phases is not working.
in my case my charger is connected to tn 400v with 3 phases, i have a equalizer connected. when connecting a car with one phase support only the charger always choose L1 + N even if the phase has the most load, if the current in L1 is larger then the OV it ramps down charger. charger should choose L2 or L3 in this case as this phases are less loaded.

My Equalizer shows 80% load in the App, while the current on each of the phases is 10.5A, 11.6A and 13.7A?
I have 35A main fuses with the equalizer connected and 16A circuit fuses.

Complementing my reported info on this issue:
My earlier reported problem about loadbalancing now works, but the instalation instructions and how the system checks and syncronize critical configuration data could be improved.
My earlier problem was that when data about the main fuse value for the Chargingbox was changed from initial16A (which was wrong) to 35A, then the data in the Cloud and in the App for both the Chargingbox and the Equalizer indicated main fuse as 35A - which was ok and correct.
The/my problem was that although all data presented looked ok, the qualizer used another data (the previus old 16A value) in the HW when conducting load balancing !
It is misleading and inccorect that the system (equalizer & chargingbox) use/could use, other data then the data presented in App and cloud when conducting load balancing. This is a tricky fault for a normal user to understand and it could easily lead to blaming your products for not working correctely.
Regarding my also reported problem, with that the charging don't recomance automaticaly after that the load balancing function has stoped the charging because a high load on main fuses. I've been told that this is beacuse of lack of SW in our VW ID-3. If this is the case, it would be good if you could inform your ID-3 users about it. This so users know this deficiency and don't need to worry, but also so they should not blame your products for the mal function.

I suspect I might have the same issue. How did you check what actual current setting the Equalizer uses for load balancing?
Hans Ternbrant
Well, my main fuse is 35A and the local circuit fuse for the box is 16A on 3-phases. It was obvius when looking in the app that the load balancing did not work correctely. When my main fuses had close to 16A the charging stoped and when a main fuse had below 16A (which is only half of availabe current) the box only got som 2-12A. It lokked very much like the SW was wrong or that the Equalizer HW used another value 16A for the main fuse. If you read all my text related to this issue, you could see that you need to re-pair the Equalizer and the Chargingbox, if you change e.g. the value of the main fuse in the box.
Good luck! /Hans

I currently have the same probleme, my Chargebot is ramping down dynamicaly when mainfuse load reaches 40% capacity, if mainfuse is loaded 50% then chargebot is reducing available capacity to 50%.
loadbalacing is not working at all, phase select is not working, Chargebot always chooses the phase L1+N and in my case that is the most loaded phase, it should choose to use L3+N instead,
also loadbalancing is far to conservative, i am expecting mainfuse to hit 100% load before ramping down. remember that modern fuses has thermal protection allowing capacity *1,45 for 1 hour before tripping. this headrom is enough for the EQ to make decision to ramp down charger.
i have removed the equilizer at the moment as its totaly unusable for my case at the moment

I don't see any strange things with the pictures you are showing. It does not look like my case. The only strange thing I can see is that your Charger is charging on only 1 Phase, but this can be because of the car. More over, e.g. the ID-3 car are lacking some of the SW needed for the charging function, which could lead to a strange behaviour.

Complementing my reported info on this issue:
I looks like that the regulation function use my 16A circuit fuse as it would be the main fuse.
This have the effect that I can't charge my car now, altough I have a 35A main fuse !
When the main current of the central is some 10-16A or higher (only about 30% of the main fuse) it's impossible to use the Chargebox.
More over, when I try to charge and it might start, as soon as the
current of the main central appoaches 16A - the charging stops. The Charging app then says "that it's waiting for the car", an ID3 VW. The problem here is that for some reasons the charging seems to not recommance automaticaly? It looks like it's a problem with the communication between the car and the box - someone goes on time out or ... ?
When my box was instaled, 16A was wrongly indicated as main fuse for the box. This was value was later changed for the box to 35A and the cloud now says 35A. Could it by some reason be that the old value of the main fuse remains in some of these entities (the cloud, the equalizer and the box) ie. that they are not syncronized?

Hello Lars,
May I ask if you have IT-grid (230V) in your house?
Thank you for the feedback!
Quanzo87
I have following in my House
L1 230V
L2 230V
L3 230V
GND
But we have 400v between phases
I have turned off my equalizer because of the issue.
