ECO-mode - Charge only with surplus power from solar panels etc

Currently the Easee charging robot can use Tibber pulse for load balancing in order to avoid blowing the main fuse when charging.

I would have liked to have a similar option, Eco-mode, that only allows charging when total energy consumption is below 0 watt, which would limit charging to whenever the solar panels (or any other power generator you may have) produce more power than the rest of your household is using at the moment.

I have a 13.5 kW solar panel installation, and I would really appreciate, if this option is finished. So i could charge the EV with only the surplus production from the solar panels. The more you consume of your own production and the less power you buy, is essential for the economy in investing in solar panels.

Hi, what is the situation with just charging the electric vehicle with the solar roof only? It has been promised that the equalizer, which is necessary for that, will be available in Germany for purchase in 3rd quarter of 2021. What is the progress here?

I wish I knew… there are a few different versjon of «Charging from solar» on this site, but that all have status=«Open» which probably means the developers at Easee haven’t started looking into this yet. Looks like the better option is to either go for the Zappi charger or solve this via 3rd party home automation.

Myeneri Zappi have this functionality, by utilizing CT-sensors. Now that Easee Equalizer is coming, there should be a easy fix to be able to program easee to only charge when we have surplus energy.

This would be great. I would also like to charge when my solarcells produce electricity!
