Smart Charging Based on Dynamic Pricing

R
Roy Hendriks

I propose a new feature to make the device smarter by enabling smart charging functionality. The device would automatically optimize charging schedules based on dynamic energy prices, helping users save on energy costs while reducing grid strain during peak hours. This feature could integrate with real-time energy price data and provide users with the ability to customize charging preferences based on their needs.

Providing an API for other developers to do home automation would be better than trying to work with every provider out there. Let the community help.

Since the beginning of the year, swedish electrical grid owners like Ellevio has implemented a power tariff on electricity, with 50% of the power demand being calculated during off-peak hours (10:00 PM–6:00 AM). This creates a need to set a lower maximum power limit for chargers during the day and a higher limit during the night to optimize costs and energy usage.

Will it be possible to configure the maximum available power based on the time of day, or what is you plan for this?

The charger must be able to integrate with local electricity prices so that you can always see the actual price you have consumed and you must have the option to charge via smartcharge. As it is now you have to use Monta but then you cannot use the solar function that you have via Easee eqalizer.

Lad bilen når strømprisene er på sitt laveste. Eco Mode finner du i appen, og når du velger denne smartladingen lader du bilen automatisk når strømprisene er på sitt laveste i løpet av døgnet, uansett hvilket strømselskap du har.
